What is the plot of the whale?

WHALE

The official plot synopsis for The Whale reads:

From Darren Aronofsky comes WHALE, the story of a reclusive, severely obese English teacher who attempts to reunite with his estranged teenage daughter for one last chance at redemption. Starring Brendan Fraser based on the famous play by Samuel D. Hunter.

Creator of the original game Samuel D. Hunter participation is a good sign that functional adaptation WHALE will match the original. Without saying too much for those who would like to experience the film without knowing too much about the overall storyline, the play has a surprising amount of lightheartedness and humor despite being clearly serious about its theme and plot. This appears to be true of the film version as well as characters other than Charlie and his daughter Ellie, such as Charlie’s pessimistic nurse Liz (Hong Chau) and an optimistic Mormon missionary named Elder Thomas (Ty Simpkins).
