The is a widely popular anime series that belongs to the Slice of Life and Boys Love genres. Yuma’s character, Uenoyama, is a young guitarist who develops feelings for his new friend Mafuyu. Initially, Uenoyama is a cool-headed and collected, mostly indifferent teenager who prefers to take naps whenever he gets the chance. But as his feelings for Mafuyu grow stronger - feelings he can’t understand - Uenoyama becomes less one-dimensional. Once again, we see Yuma at his best, portraying a superficially tough character who is actually just as clumsy as everyone else, desperately trying to control himself. 1 Ash Lynx, Banana Fish (2018)

Yuma’s best voice acting is his role as Ash Lynx in banana fish. Ash is one of the most complex and multi-faceted characters of all time, as hardened as he is lovable, and when brought to life in banana fish anime, Yuma perfectly personified him. Yuma’s wide vocal range and his ability to portray an attractive reckless teenager was certainly put to the test, because Ash is no ordinary teenager - unwittingly captured by the mafia, wounded by childhood trauma, murderer, boss of a New York gang, IQ over 200 years old and only 17 years old … and yet Yuma skillfully summed up every side of Ash, from his commanding leadership voice to his soft and playful tone when he was with his best friend Eiji. Yuma voiced Ash as a strong and determined fighter, but also as a vulnerable and humble child who just yearned for freedom. The emotional passion that Yuma brought to Ash’s character continues to have a profound effect on banana fish fans.
