There have been few shows lately that have managed to combine survival drama with a gripping mystery. yellow jackets managed. The fan-favorite series is about to return with a second season, and the anticipation for the stories to unfold is heating up. The drama tells the story of a New Jersey high school football team that is stranded in the desert after a plane crash in 1996 while on a trip to a tournament. The crew members are stranded in the desert for nineteen months, and the series showcases the trauma they endured in trying to stay alive while also tracking their current lives in the present day.
Entertainment Weekly has released new images from the upcoming season that point to a deepening mystery. In the first image, we see a gang of teenagers standing outside the hut and seemingly comprehending yet another unspoken bout of their own horrific deeds. In another image, Natalie and Travis are looking at something or someone with suspicion, and in one image, Van and Taissa are holding hands, probably comforting each other. In another image, Lottie, Shauna and Taissa are looking at someone outside the hut in tears. The images for the adult versions of Lottie, Misty and Shauna also show women in difficult situations.
What to expect from yellow jackets Season 2?
In the accompanying interview, the cast and creators only hint at the extreme trauma the survivors endured. They promise fans another round of twisted mysteries Jonathan Lisko teases about the modern timeline: “In the first season, they were running from what happened in the woods. I think they will be caught this season. they really are.”
Past trauma isn’t the only thing the adults deal with though, as by the end of the first season, we see Misty and Shauna have committed murders and Thaissa’s wife has discovered a secret altar. Lisko elaborates that along with the pain and guilt in the upcoming season:
“Are they willing to admit it is the fact that they have never felt more alive in any way than when they were in the desert. They may have gone crazy, but it was also a world free of the stereotypes and expectations that society imposed on them, especially on young women. There was freedom in this madness. Therefore, they want to get in touch with their primal self.
