For those collectors who miss the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi and I want to add Ben Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) friends and enemies of their Black Series collection, Hasbro has you covered. Collider is pleased to announce the exclusive 2-Pack Carbonized NED-B and Purge Trooper, hitting store shelves in September and available for pre-order February 28 at 1:00 pm ET exclusively on Amazon.
The set, which is expected to retail for around $75, includes two figures, each a special redesign of previously released Black Series figures. Both have been repainted for the new set, offering a more battle-weary carbon-coated version of the NED-B and a more metallic look to the Purge Trooper. As with the rest of the Hasbro Black Series lines, they also feature multiple points of articulation and a high level of detail when sculpting and painting.
NED-B was first introduced in the third episode. Obi-Wan Kenobias Tala Durit’s lifting companion (Indira Varma), which helped her guide Force-sensitive humans through a network known as the Path to safety. Ultimately, the two met their end in a blaze of glory holding back Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) and his powers so Ben, Leia (Vivian Lyra Blair), and other rebels will have a chance to escape. Although the character never speaks, his determination to do the right thing to those who need his help speaks volumes. Its new carbon paint job is perfect for collectors looking to recreate—or immortalize—the last moments of the hero droid’s life.
The Purge soldiers were first introduced in the comics as soldiers working for the Inquisitors, former Jedi who had turned to hunting the Jedi. They have gained a lot of fame in video games. Jedi: Fallen Order before appearing on screen in episodes 4 and 5 Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the series, soldiers appear along with Reva (Moses Ingram) as she pursues Kenobi for revenge and closure. Their distinctive red and black design - a stark contrast to the white and black that most other soldiers associate - lends a menacing air to this elite group of Jedi hunters.
