Earlier today, Prime Video released a set of teasers from the long-running sci-fi series. Citadel as the stellar series nears release. However, attentive viewers may have noticed some features in one of the published images. Shot Richard Madden looking at a screen full of information about Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ character Nadia Shinh contains a QR code that leads users down a rabbit hole that ends with a secret teaser for the series.
To “connect to the mainframe” of the Citadel network, viewers will first need to scan a QR code leading to Instagram. There, users will be prompted to connect to the mainframe by clicking on the message in private messages Citadelcheck. After the account “authenticates your credentials”, it will ask you for a password, which can also be found in the same image. By entering it, you will gain access to level 1 and unlock the teaser, which the account will send shortly after, along with the message “ALL YOU KNOW IS A LIE”.
The teaser itself is short, starts with a trippy shot Stanley Tuccirepeats the same line from Citadel’s Instagram account. He continues by adding, “What you were was a myth. What you were was the Citadel” as tense footage from the show played in the background. It’s a mind-blowing ride that mixes elements of spy thrillers and action movies. More importantly, the teaser also reveals that the full trailer for Citadel due to arrive on March 1st, which means we’ll be learning more about the sci-fi spy thriller soon.

Tucci’s last line is directly related to the Citadel’s in-universe spy organization that Agents Kane (Madden) and Singh were a part of before their memories were erased. The series is about the two trying to pick up the pieces and remember everything they forgot. The intervention of Tucci’s character, Bernard Orlik, helps them get back into an independent spy organization to stop Manticore, a powerful entity bent on establishing a new world order. Leslie Manville also appears in the series as the cunning British Ambassador to the United States, Dahlia Archer. Nikki Amuka-Bird, Timothy BusfieldAnd Roland Möller complete the cast.
Prime Video goes for broke Citadel which is created Patrick Moran together with Anthony And Joe Russo With David Weil as showrunner. The project quickly became one of the most expensive on television, costing over $250 million due to massive creative rework and re-shoots. Citadel is the cornerstone of a larger plan for the streamer, acting as a series of “mother ships” for what would eventually become numerous spin-offs in the same universe. One spin-off is currently being filmed in Italy, starring Matilda De Angelis more are planned for India and Mexico.
