Helen Mirren play a famous author Patricia Highsmith V Switzerland, an upcoming thriller depicting a fictional encounter with a pushy literary agent. The film will be directed by Anton Corbijn, his first feature-length work in eight years. Deadline reports that Mirren will take on the role of the reclusive writer best known for her novels about immoral con man Tom Ripley in the film adaptation of the novel. In it, Highsmith, while living in self-imposed exile in Switzerland, meets with a literary agent who tries to persuade her to write Ripley’s final novel; she tries to scare him off, but the duo end up collaborating, creating a twisted world of their own. Corbijn exclusively revealed details about the new Collider movie in an interview last month, telling the editor-in-chief Steve Weintraub that his highly anticipated next film will be Switzerlanda fictional film about Highsmith with “biographical elements” to be filmed in Europe later this year.

The famous misanthrope Highsmith was a prolific writer of psychological thrillers that became fertile ground for Hollywood film adaptations.
