With Creed IIIaspiring director and lead actor, Michael B. Jordan has made it clear that he intends to take the franchise in a new direction. When the spin-off Sylvester Stalloneiconic sports drama, rockyit was announced that fans were skeptical, but Jordan came in, won the hearts of the fans and spun a new franchise as Adonis “Donnie” Creed, the son of Rocky’s best friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Now, with the third installment, the anticipation and excitement is undoubtedly quite high.

To further tease fans, USA Today has unveiled a new image from the upcoming movie, showing Donnie in another fight in the boxing ring. While the film’s new antagonist is playing Jonathan Majors, it’s not him that Donny encounters in the new image. Jordan looks menacing as Donnie, and the overall impression of the image promises more high-octave fights in the upcoming film.

AT Creed III, we will see Donnie, who is at the peak of his career and succeeding in family life. Things change when Damian (Majors), his childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, shows up after serving time in prison. Damian is a fighter with nothing to lose and is determined to prove that he deserves his performance in the ring. To settle scores in the ring, Adonis will have to put his future at stake.

With Creed IIIJordan looks to further develop Donnie’s emotional arc that has been built in the last two installments. In a previously released short film, the actor/director noted that the upcoming feature film is not “just a typical boxing movie.” it pays off physically. The upcoming feature will put Donnie to a severe test as he will face a nemesis who has personal scores to settle and will do anything not to win the battle but to destroy Donnie and everything for the sake of what he worked.

Jordan is directing from a script written by Keenan Coogler and Zach Beilin. Along with Jordan and the Majors, the film features Tessa Thompson as wife Donnie Bianca Taylor, Wood Harris as Tony “The Little Duke” Evers, Florian Munteanu like Victor Drago, and Phylicia Rashad like Mary Ann. Furthermore, Tony Bellew will reprise his role as Ricky Conlan from the first film.
