First trailer for The Evil Dead Rise finally here, and not a second before. It’s been ten years since then Fede Alvarez introduced a darker and tougher version Evil Dead to cinemas, and since then we’ve been craving more dead people. Of course, Ash vs Evil Dead it was a lot of fun, but we missed the blood dripping onto the movie screen. Luckily, The Evil Dead RiseThe trailer promises that the film will be as gory as our wildest nightmares. There’s a lot to unpack in the new red tape trailer, so let’s start cutting these horrific images into pieces and digesting them one by one.
Dark family affair
What does Alvarez do Evil Dead so delicious that it doesn’t try to copy the style Sam Raimi entered the franchise. Instead, it brings something new while still sticking to what made the original trilogy so great. The Evil Dead Rise promises to do the same hole in the ground producer Lee Cronin takes over the franchise, with Raimi remaining as producer.
In the upcoming sequel, Cronin takes the dead to a big city instead of locking the evil in a cabin in the woods. The story also feels more personal as the dead will own Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland), a single mother of three children. After that, it’s up to her sister Beth (Lily Sullivan) to find a way to defeat evil. opening scene The Evil Dead Rise The trailer already promises that the sequel is a family affair, with Beth protecting her three nieces and nephews from a horrifying vision of a possessed Ellie.

In the blink of an eye, Ellie’s middle child seems to have turned into Deadite as well, wriggling its limbs in unnatural directions on the kitchen counter. If it’s Ellie’s baby, Beth will have to kill some family members to save the others. Talk about high emotional stakes!
Necronomicon is to blame
New trailer for The Evil Dead Rise reveals what’s behind Deadite’s new breakthrough. As expected, the culprit is the Necronomicon, a cursed book made from human skin and written in human blood. The book contains all sorts of evil spells, including those that can open the gates to hell and bring demons to Earth.
The Book of the Dead isn’t the only relic Beth finds while visiting her sister. Along with the book, Beth will gain access to an old entry that appears to contain the rites of Professor Knowby’s Necronomicon. AT Evil Dead According to legend, Professor Knowby is the scientist responsible for recording the rite to release the Kandarian demon, the being responsible for turning people into the dead. In the trailer, we can hear the professor’s dark magical words that inadvertently brought the demon to Earth. One of those words is “Kandar”, a keyword that has been repeated in every iteration of the franchise.
Shed in a woods
Bye The Evil Dead Rise takes place in an apartment in a big city, we’ll get at least a few scenes in a cabin in the woods. Maybe these scenes take place in flashbacks, or the movie will spin unexpectedly. Whatever it is, it’s good to see The Evil Dead Rise paying homage to the place where the franchise came to life.
While we don’t know when the scenes in the cabin in the woods take place, the dead are also part of it. In the few flashes we receive from the scene, we can already see the dead man tearing open the woman’s scalp and marching towards the lake nearby.
In the cabin in the forest part of the trailer, we also see a dead man floating above the water. It’s a new strength for the franchise’s monsters, and it highlights that Cronin isn’t afraid to make his mark on the story.
All these weapons
While the Necronomicon and the dead are classic villains in Evil Dead According to legend, the pleasure of watching movies and TV shows comes from the tradition of turning everything into a weapon. Sometimes it’s a hero who uses everything he can find to fight evil, and sometimes the dead show ingenuity to destroy their victims. AT The Evil Dead Riselooks like Ellie is going to use a tattoo machine to stab someone in the eye.
While eye perforations are always unnerving, the trailer’s most painful moment is without a doubt when Beth loses some of her skin to a dead man with a cheese grater. Skeptics who thought the sequel wouldn’t honor the franchise’s roots have just received bloody confirmation that they’re wrong.
New Groovy Hero takes a step forward
Each Evil Dead The movie needs a hero. For most of the franchise Bruce Campbell played by Ash William. In the 2013 film Jane Levy Mia played. Now it’s time for Beth to take on the mantle of slayer of the dead. While we have a new hero, the trailer nods to the original trilogy, showing Beth running down the hallway covered in blood, eyes wide in madness. Ash had the same look during the hunt for the dead, and the camera shake comes straight from Raimi’s playbook.

Beth isn’t the only blood-soaked survivor in the trailer, as it looks like Ellie’s youngest daughter will also be one of the last survivors. May be The Evil Dead Rise could start a new golden era for the franchise by making hunting the dead a family legacy.
The Evil Dead Rise
While Beth will likely have to face many evil creatures in the sequel, Ellie is the star of the monster show. Deadite, using her body, explores her mother nature to trick her children into letting her in, which is obviously a mistake.
At a certain point in the trailer, Ellie’s voice changes and the Kandarian demon says that the woman is now with maggots. Having taken possession of the body, the dead always tease those close to this person, uttering profanity and emphasizing that there is no hope for recovery. That’s what makes Deadites so interesting, as they are the perfect mix of zombies and possessed humans.
When a person turns into a dead man, he becomes stronger, faster, more enduring and can even climb walls. By the end of the trailer, we can already see Ellie in all her supernatural glory. We can’t wait to see The Evil Dead Rise in theaters and see how it unleashes its full power.
The game recognizes the game
It may be the excitement churning in our brains, but The Evil Dead Rise maybe a tribute to other great horror movies. For example, we get a small glimpse of a room filled with crucifixes that lead our minds to spell 2. Although the composition of the crucifixes is different, the blue light that includes the scene is very similar to James Wanclassic.
Besides, remember when the little girl decapitated the doll? It’s hard not to think of it as Hereditary nod when we also have a burning body in the same trailer.
