Evacuation 2: release window, trailer, filming details and everything we know about the continuation of the action movie from Netflix

Obviously, like any good action hero, Rake lives to fight another day. Now some details about Extract 2 have been officially revealed, but the first film has already amassed a huge fan base that will be waiting to see what happens next. No pressure, right? Either way, we’ve put together this handy guide covering everything we knew about Extract 2, from trailers and cast information to filming updates and more. Lock up and load, folks. Who makes Extraction 2?

Hargrave will return as director Extract 2. First Mining the film was Hargrave’s feature-length directorial debut. Previously, he suggested that he might not be in charge of all future Mining movies. Hargrave told Collider in January 2021:

“So, [as far as] my personal involvement, I would like to be as involved as possible, but I also don’t want to be greedy. There are many other super talented directors who would have a very unique vision and bring something new and fresh to the franchise that I would love to see as a fan. Hopefully we can do part 2 with the same team and really create a franchise if you want. But from there, as a movie fan, I would like to see other young directors who, again, can raise the level of action.”

Joe Russo will also return as screenwriter Extract 2. In addition, AGBO, a manufacturing company led by Joe Russo and Anthony Russowill produce the new film. The AGBO team is reportedly working on an extension Mining franchise beyond the scope of a sequel, with the goal of creating a shared MCU-style cinematic universe.

Netflix releases teaser trailer Extract 2 in September 2021 during their Tudum event and you can check it out above. The video begins by replaying Reik’s last moments, showing how he was injured and fell into a river. In a voice-over, Mahajan tells him, “Tyler, you will drown not by falling into the river, but by staying in it.” And then, against all odds, we see Rake open his eyes and begin to float to the surface. We’ll probably have to wait a bit before we see the actual trailer, but in the meantime, stay tuned to this location. When is the release date for Extraction 2?

Netflix has finally announced a release window for Extract 2which is now due out sometime in 2023.

Who plays in the movie “Evacuation 2”?

Chris Hemsworth has been confirmed to return for the sequel. Golshifte Farahani will also return as Nik Khan, with Adam Bessa is about to join a promising franchise as Yaz Khan.

The cast of the first film included Hemsworth, Rudraksh Jaiswal, Randeep HoodaGolshifte Farahani, Pankaj Tripathiand David Harbor, among others. It is currently unknown if any of these actors other than Hemsworth and Farahani will return for the sequel, but we should get some information about it soon. Who are the main characters in The Evacuation (and who will return in The Evacuation 2)?

The protagonist of the series Mining The franchise is obviously Tyler Rake, Chris Hemsworth’s ex-Special Forces mercenary. His return was inevitable as he is the central character. MiningThe story gave Reik a pretty satisfying growth arc, so now we’ll have to wait and see where he goes next.

Rudraksh Jaiswal appeared in the first film as Ovi Mahajan Jr. He is the son of an Indian crime boss also named Ovi Mahajan (played by Pankaj Tripathi). Mining was the story of his abduction and rescue. It is unlikely that he will return for Extract 2 but everything is possible right now.

Randeep Huda played Saju Rav, Ovi Mahajan Sr.’s chief of security who, like Reik, also worked in the Special Forces. He certainly died in Mining but if Reik can come back after being shot and drowned… who knows?

Golshifte Farahani appeared as Nik Khan, Reik’s handler. The last time we saw her, she was avenging Rake’s death. So it would be interesting to see how she reacts to his return. In addition, it also makes sense for her to be the one who gives Reik his new mission, whatever it may be.

David Harbor played Gaspar, Reik’s former teammate who chose to live in Dhaka. He also turned on Reik and was shot by Ovi in Mining so if he comes back for Extract 2it will probably be associated with some kind of memory.

When was Extraction 2 filmed?

Chris Hemsworth confirmed his instagram what Extract 2 Filming will begin at the end of November. Filming was originally scheduled to begin in September 2021 in Australia, but was later moved to Prague, Czech Republic. The move was reportedly prompted by the COVID-19 situation in Australia and concerns about possible shutdowns. Sam Hargrave also previously told Collider that the plan was to film Extract 2 autumn 2021.

“[That’s] Another thing, COVID-expectation. It’s kind of a little warning to everyone right now, but we’re moving forward as if we were filming in the fall. Joe [Russo] still working on the script. We are all excited to read this. I’ve read different iterations, but I’m excited to read what it turns into. We are all looking forward to getting back in the saddle and hopefully bringing another exciting adventure to the Evacuation universe.

Extract 2 production began in Prague in November 2021, and Hemsworth also shared a video from the set shortly after. Photos from the set also revealed that Hemsworth would be riding a snow-covered train in at least one scene. Thor the star wrapped filming on the film in March 2022, and production ended in April after five months of production.

When will Extraction 2 take place?

Extract 2 likely to begin immediately after the events of the first film. Keep in mind that there has also been talk of research into Reik’s past.

“We are not yet deciding whether this story will go forward or backward in time. We left a big loose end that leaves viewers with question marks,” Joe Russo told Deadline in May 2020. Around the same time, Hargrave also told Collider that he would be interested in making a prequel, although he admitted that the real movie could go forward or backward.

Given what we see in the teaser, it’s safe to say that Extract 2 will be basically set for the time being. However, we can get a few flashbacks to Reik’s past. After all, the movie was going to be filmed in Australia, so maybe we’ll see something from his time in the Australian Army.

What is the plot of Evacuation 2?

Netflix has actually released very little plot information for Extract 2. What we know for sure is that the movie will show how Rake survived and send him on another mission, this time to save the family of a Georgian gangster. Here’s the official synopsis:

Barely surviving the events of the first film, Reik returns as an Australian mercenary tasked with yet another deadly mission: to rescue the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

Given that Gaspar’s character has generated a lot of interest, the new story could have something to do with the time Reik and Gaspar spent together as teammates. Perhaps an old enemy is returning to haunt Reik in the present? This has already been done a thousand times, but there is still some potential. All things considered, it’s probably best to wait and see what’s in store for us through Extract 2. We know the sequel will have a lot of expectations. And if it’s half as entertaining as the first movie, the new one might just climb right to the top of the Netflix charts.
