When done right, sequels are always one of the most fun cinematic experiences. It’s never a bad idea to continue and expand on another movie’s world, especially if that world was exciting.
More often than not, this addition tends to include new additions to the character ensemble, such as formidable villains such as Blofeld from 007 movies to favorite characters like Yoda from star Warsfranchise. When these characters are memorable enough, viewers may even forget they weren’t there to begin with.
Puss in Boots earned himself a couple of sequels
Presented in amazing Shrek 2 as a formidable assassin, Puss in Boots proved to be a decisive character in all subsequent shrek sequels and even received two spin-offs. One in 2011, the other in 2022.
It takes a really funny and compelling supporting character to get your own movies, and Puss definitely ticks those boxes. Since the movie he was first seen in, he has shown himself to be a strong, capable and witty hero/anti-hero with a dramatic past that provides some really interesting plot twists.
Everything you’ve heard about Lando Calrissian is true.
World star Wars full of fascinating and incredibly funny characters, most of which are presented in one of the many sequels, prequels and spin-offs. The fifth part of the franchise (the second for purists), The Empire Strikes Backintroduced quite a few fan favorites.
One of the most notable was Lando Calrissian, a witty and eloquent villain who had a mysterious past with Han Solo. He went on to appear in three other star Wars cinema, including playing a prominent role in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Sirius Black may not be what he seems
Most of the minor characters in Harry Potter fantastic, but few are as fan-favorite as Sirius Black. First seen in Alfonso CuaronX Prisoner of Azkaban (often considered the best in the series), he is Harry’s mysterious godfather.
In the third film, he is an escaped convict full of fear and injury, desperate to get justice. When he is next seen in the fifth part, both Harry and the audience will see the real Sirius: brave, passionate and dedicated to defeating Voldemort. He plays great Gary Oldmanand he steals every scene he’s in.
The Three Company… Unless Three Isn’t Leo Getz
Riggs and Murtaugh from Deadly weapon are one of the greatest action duos. How to make perfect even better? you throw in Joe Pesci in one of his most distinctly funny performances.
AT Lethal Weapon 2, viewers are introduced to Leo Getz (played by Pesci), a troublesome federal witness that Riggs and Murtaugh must protect. Although he can be annoying at first, his hyperactive and talkative nature quickly becomes annoying, earning Goetz a brilliant role in both subsequent films. Deadly weapon sequels.
Phoenix Buchanan is a true master of disguise
Paddington 2 it’s a delightful film that feels like a warm hug after a hard day. One of the best parts about it is the antagonist Phoenix Buchanan, an unsuccessful actor turned petty thief.
Hugh grant clearly does a great job in the role, and it pays off. Buchanan is a delightfully goofy and funny character with countless crossovers and accents behind him, who is willing to do anything to become rich and famous again. This sequel definitely wouldn’t be as incredible without him as a villain.
Davy Jones is as impressive visually as he is narratively
Even after so many years, Davy Jones remains the best digital character ever. He was the main antagonist of the 2nd and 3rd films Pirates of the Caribbeanand he was a truly intimidating presence.
Jones is arguably the most complex and enigmatic character in the entire franchise. Bill Nighy (in an incredibly underrated performance) gives it nuance and personality. The tyrannical captain of a ghost ship, he is a terrifying man in love with a goddess, a love that brings nothing but heartache and tragedy.
Blofeld’s name. Ernst Stavro Blofeld
James Bond’s rogue’s gallery is more extensive, varied and hilarious than most other action movie protagonists. His nemesis is Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the formidable leader of a criminal organization.
First appearance of Blofeld From Russia with love, the second Bond film. In this film, his name is never spoken, his face is never seen, and all viewers are shown his knees as he pets his white cat. His presence gradually grows until he and 007 finally meet face to face in You only live twicecementing Blofeld’s reputation as a villain for the ages.
Khan is the iconic sci-fi antagonist
Star Trek all the media it covers are full of memorable characters, but few are as badass as Khan, the episode’s villain. original seriessecond Star Trek movie (Khan’s Wrath), and JJ AbramsX Star Trek: Into Darkness.
Though Benedict CumberbatchAbrams’ film portrayal of the character was not particularly well received by fans, Ricardo Montalbanin the show and Khan’s Wrath is an absolute classic. Ruthless and unpredictable, he combines all the qualities that make a villain attractive.
Science fiction legend, Yoda
Lando wasn’t the only cult star Wars character featured in The Empire Strikes Back. There was also Yoda, an old and wise Jedi Master whom Luke meets on Dagobah to continue his training.
Although the very first scene with Yoda is just as silly and funny as one would expect from a scene with Frank Oz a puppet, he soon turns out to be a powerful Jedi that fans have met in George Lucasprequel trilogy, where the character became a computer creation. Yoda is one of the most famous sci-fi characters, and for a lot of good reasons.
The Joker from The Dark Knight trilogy is the most feared supervillain
The superhero movie genre is full of great antagonists. But if only one were to be chosen as the best, the vast majority of people would agree that it should be Heath LedgerJoker in Christopher NolanX The Dark Knightthe second part of it The Dark Knight trilogy.
Not only is Ledger’s performance stunningly strong, but the character is also brilliantly written, undoubtedly one of the most feared and memorable antagonists in the genre. He constantly grabs everyone’s attention in the film and he certainly wouldn’t be remembered with such fondness without the presence of Joker Ledger.
