As expected, Netflix set fire to the Thunder Stage at the Brazilian Comic-Con Experience this Saturday. The streaming giant has hosted panels since the first event in 2014, when it was much smaller. So it’s no surprise that their panel has been one of the most anticipated by fans. The panellists welcomed the actors from The Witcher: Origin of Blood, squid game, Rookie, heart block, Sandman, Wednesdayas well as Money theft: Korea to talk about their series and tease future seasons.
There was so much to talk about, the panel ran for over two hours, and the audience screamed at the top of their lungs every time their favorite actors took the stage. This year, Netflix introduced Noah Centineo, Keith Connor, Joe Locke, Sofia Brown, Lawrence O’Fuarine, Joey Baty, Park Hae Soo, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Gwendolyn Christie, Vivien Achempongas well as Jenna Ortega.
Rookie
The panel began with Noah Centineo talking about his upcoming action thriller. Rookie, which is scheduled to premiere in mid-December. Centineo said he was excited about the show and his role as Owen Hendrix, a CIA lawyer who is brought into a case against his will. The actor stated that he loved the idea of playing a guy who thinks he can handle it but realizes he’s way beyond it.
Centineo presented a panel scene in which he shares a screen with a co-star. Laura Haddock. In the story, Haddock plays a prisoner who threatens to reveal CIA classified information if she doesn’t get what she wants. Details from the scene can be found in this article.

Before the next section began, Netflix decided to show a behind-the-scenes look from Glass Bow: Mystery of Knives, which will also premiere in December this year. The streamer posted the video online on his Brazilian account and you can watch it below:

in heart block In the section, the main couple of the series, Keith Connor and Joe Locke, said that they flew to Brazil immediately after filming the second season of the series. The duo talked about how honored they are to be part of a show that portrays queer love in all its forms, celebrates diversity, and has an overwhelmingly positive message for young LGBTQIA+ kids.
Even though season 2 heart block filming is over, it’s still too early to give anything away as Netflix hasn’t even filmed the first trailer yet and hasn’t announced a release date yet. However, fans know they can sleep easy as the incredibly popular teen show has already been renewed for a 3rd season.
squid game as well as Money theft: Korea
South Korean star Park Hae-soo is set to star in Netflix’s two hit series, a life-and-death survival series. squid game and new thriller Money theft: Korea - adaptation of a Spanish-language TV series La Casa de Papel. Park celebrated being part of the streamer’s biggest hits and revealed he didn’t think about his character in squid game as a villain despite what he does at one point in the season. He said that he played Jo Sang Woo as truthfully as he could in relation to the character’s personality.
On the Money Heist: Korea Unified Economic Zone, Park brought an exclusive scene from the 2nd part of the series. Netflix split the first season into two blocks, which they did with many shows to keep things interesting. The clip shows a police intrusion, which makes the series’ bank robbery even more difficult.
The Witcher: Origin of Blood
panel for The Witcher: Origin of Blood gave fans exactly what they wanted - a new trailer for the spin-off of the prequel series, presented by the lead actor Michelle Yeoh (All Everywhere All at once). The trailer focused on the new characters fans are about to meet, as well as the overwhelming value of the series.
Actor duo Sophia Brown and Lawrence O’Fuarain headlined the panel as they talked about how excited they are for the series, as well as unveiling a new poster for the upcoming season, which will premiere on Christmas Day. The group then received a surprise visit from Joey Batey, who was recently featured as part of the spin-off.
Sandman
The part of the panel that made the audience scream the most was undoubtedly Sandman. Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Gwendoline Christie, and Vivienne Achempong were all given a standing ovation and took some time to reflect on the series’ themes. The trio praised how the legendary comic book series and TV show both offer different yet unique perspectives on life and death topics, and said they were longtime fans of the author. Neil Gaiman.
Gaiman himself then appeared in the video to highlight the exciting fact that fan-favorite character Delirium will be featured in the upcoming season 2, information that the writer confirmed via Tumblr. Gaiman then revealed a deleted scene from the first season in which Death (Howell-Baptiste) is talking to the Sandman (Tom Sturridge) about the time she tried to live as a human.
Wednesday
Last but not least, Jenna Ortega took the stage to talk about the hit dark comedy series. Wednesday. She was later joined by Gwendoline Christie, who plays Nevermore headmistress Larissa Weems on the show. Christy and Ortega praised each other’s work and talked about how they enjoy working with each other. Ortega then stunned the audience by agreeing to answer the question without blinking, a trait she developed with the series’ director. Tim Burton for Wednesday Addams.
The duo presented viewers with a goofy cutscene, who learned that Nevermore was not as dark off-screen as it had been throughout the series. Christy revealed that she always wanted to work with Burton and that he encouraged them to participate and contribute to every scene.
