After the release of the first official trailer Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 At this year’s Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in São Paulo, Brazil, Disney rushed to show fans the first official poster of what’s to come. James Gunnthe third and final entry in his epic guardians of the galaxy trilogy.
The poster shows the full cast of Guardians - Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldanha), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Batista), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Groot (VIN diesel), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Kraglin (Sean Gunn) and cosmops Cosmo (Maria Bakalova) stand on their new ship, the Bowie, against the setting sun against a dramatic backdrop, suggesting that this is a final goodbye, not only to Gunn, but perhaps to some of these characters.
Gunn teased it Volume. 3 would be the most emotional of the trilogy, and even talked about how easy it was to film and produce the recently released Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Edition beside Volume. 3 due to the serious and heavy nature of the film compared to the light and crisp holiday fun that also delivered several important news for the Guardians going forward, including the revelation that Mantis is actually Quill’s sister, and Kurt Russell Ego is also her father. We also learned that the Guardians acquired Knowledge from the Collector (Benicio del Toro), who effectively adopted the Space Dog Cosmo, is now traveling on a new ship, the Bowie, and Groot has had a major growth spurt since we last saw him in the movie.
Gunn stated that the film would be an emotional conclusion to Rocket Raccoon’s story, having previously admitted that Pocket Rocket was his favorite character. In addition, Guardians will face new antagonists, including Chukwudi IwujiX High Evolution and Will Poulterthe long-awaited Adam Warlock, one of the most influential figures in the history of Marvel comics. Also, Quill continues to deal with the heartbreak he’s going through over the loss of Gamora during the events of Avengers: Infinity Warjust to bring her back in time Avengers: Endgame but discovering that, being the younger version of Gamora, the years they spent falling in love never happened to her.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the second film of the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Maniaand it will open in theaters on May 5, 2023. Check out the new poster below:
