Chipotle showed AutoCAD. The machine cuts, peels and pits tons of avocados.

Restaurant chain Chipotle has hired Autocado to help. A special machine removes the skin from an avocado to make guacamole. The robot turned out to be a godsend for employees who used to do this painstaking work manually.

No one imagines Mexican cuisine without guacamole, but the restaurant staff who make the famous sauce hate to make it in large quantities. This is due to the fact that the main ingredient - avocado is complex and time-consuming to process, and the green additive consists mainly of the pulp of the green fruit. Luckily, modern technology comes to the rescue.

Autokado, the guacamole machine in Chipotle.

As the American network boasted, the Autokado robot recently went to work. The name is, of course, a pun on its main task. The Vebu-designed machine effectively peels the avocado, removes the pit, and then cuts the fruit into slices that are easy to use in Mexican cuisine.

Employees still prepare fresh guacamole by hand, but they no longer have to deal with additional tasks. A real treasure for the crew. Preparing an avocado used to be one of the toughest tasks in the entire Chipotle kitchen. The manual process of preparing one batch was not easy and required as much as 50 minutes of work. And guacamole is missing almost all day.

Interestingly, using Autocado should also result in food and money savings. Fast-paced chefs left more fruit leftovers to use in the sauce. The machine does not have this problem and always does it perfectly. The introduction of robots throughout the Chipotle network is expected to save the company up to millions of dollars a year.

“Chippy” is the star of Chipotle - he makes chips en masse.

Chipotle restaurants are very dynamically investing in automating tasks in the kitchen. Not so long ago, the company announced the release of another robot, this time with the equally elegant name “Chippy”. This one, as you might guess, is making Mexican-style chips.

The Miso Robotics machine will be powered by artificial intelligence algorithms and its main task is to bake fresh tortilla chips and then season them with ground salt and lime juice. This appetizer is one of the most frequently ordered in the restaurant, which requires constant preparation of new chips.

Interestingly, artificial intelligence must select the ingredients of the recipe in ideal proportions so as to preserve the characteristic taste of the chips, which is associated with the Chipotle chain.
