Confectionery “Jagodzianka” has been the pride of Masuria for many years, and now it can close once and for all. The owner of the cult business in Olsztynek says that despite famous guests, she sometimes lacks electricity.

Tempting with fresh and crispy pastries, Yagodzianka is one of the gourmets’ must-have stops on vacation. Over the years, the patisserie has also attracted celebrities from all over Poland. Despite its reputation, it may soon cease to exist.

Confectionery “Jagodzianka” in Olsztynek - a cult place to close?

According to local media, the fame of the Yagodzyanka confectionery is not due to advertising, but to the sheer quality of the products. The news about the confectionery first spread by word of mouth, and then the shop quickly became a cult place visited by tourists during the Masurian holidays. Even those from the front pages of newspapers.

- Krzysztof Skorzyński from TVN recently visited us, Cora, a wonderful woman, came every year. There were also Mandarina, Marcin Prokop, Krzysztof Kowalewski, Asiya Kluzhik-Rostkowska, Mrs. Yola Kwasniewska with her husband Alexander Kwasniewski, Andrzej Kopiczynski. - lists the owner of the sanctuary Emilia Witovich in an interview with eska.pl.

Even the support of the rich and famous may not be enough to save a local business that has been around for 40 years. As the woman regretfully admits, she is both proud of her bakery, but also struggling with the very difficult decision to close the establishment.

“Yagodzyanka” closes - “I do not earn electricity”

- There are clients in the summer, and in the winter I don’t even earn money for electricity. I’m behind because of the lowest national health insurance premiums. I only have people in season Vitovic says.

The hostess has already decided that she will close the premises after the season - you can’t buy anything here in winter. It remains an open question whether this season will be the end of the entire 40-year history of small business.

- This applies not only to my situation, but also to other small entrepreneurs. We die in silence. Big hippos are destroying small businesses. […] Why doesn’t the government implement such a solution to connect us, sweet shops, ice cream parlors, to the seasonal business and introduce tax breaks for these off-season months? the woman asks.
