When is the second indexation of pensions and pensions? The Deputy Minister announced the date

This Friday there will be an increase in pensions. However, there is a possibility that the second indexation of benefits will take place this year. Deputy Labor Minister Sebastian Gajewski speaks about a possible date.

On March 1, that is, this Friday, the indexation of pensions and pensions will take place. This year, benefits will increase by 12.12 percent. According to the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, the lowest pension (total disability pension, survivor’s pension and social pension) will be PLN 1,780.96 (currently PLN 1,588.44).

There is a possibility that this will not be the only increase in pensions this year. The government is preparing a second indexation, which will be tied to the inflation rate for the first half of this year. If prices rise by more than 5 percent in the first six months, seniors will get the money.

When is the second indexation of pensions and pensions?

Deputy Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy Sebastian Gajewski told the Polish Press Agency that the ministry has already submitted an application to include the project for the second indexation in the list of legislative and programmatic works of the government. The project is currently being processed by the Government Programming Group and will also be processed by the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers. Gaevsky notes that the regulations may still change, and its final version will be ready within a few months.

When should pensioners expect the second indexation of pensions? – In the project, we assume that the second indexation will be carried out in September. Of course, this is indexing, which is interventional in nature, i.e. it will be launched when inflation in the first half of the year exceeds a certain level – – emphasizes the deputy head of the Ministry of Labor, quoted by Radio Zet.

This level is the mentioned 5%. Meanwhile, according to forecasts, inflation in the first half of this year may be lower (according to preliminary estimates from Glavstat, inflation in January amounted to 3.9% on an annualized basis).
