The board of Polska Press has been dissolved – Onet and Wirtualna Polska have reached an agreement independently. A day earlier, Orlen interim president Witold Literacki said he had received two non-binding offers indicating interest in a possible purchase of Polska Press.

Polska Press Onet learned about the dismissal of the board from sources close to Orlen management. According to unofficial data on the website, among those who lost their positions were: President Stanislaw Bortkiewicz and board member, editor-in-chief of Polska Press Dorota Kania.

Witold Literatsky: Orlen received two offers to purchase Polska Press

A day earlier, Orlen interim president Witold Literacki said he had received two non-binding offers indicating interest in a possible purchase of Polska Press. He added that a multifaceted analysis of the media company’s profitability is ongoing.

Orlen’s final conference took place on Thursday. Literatsky was asked, among other things, whether the company plans to sell Polski Press and whether the concern from Płock has received offers to purchase the publishing house. – It’s too early to talk about what we will do with Polska Press. “We are conducting a multifaceted analysis from the point of view of the economy and profitability of this business. Only after this time will we be able to comment on what steps we will take,” said the acting director. President of Orlen.

We would like to remind you that in 2021 Orlen took over the publishing house Polska Press, publisher of 22 regional newspapers and several local Nasz Miasto websites, from Verlagsgruppe Passau. The sale price was 210 million zlotys.
