The employer must provide personal income tax to employees by the end of February, that is, February 29, 2024. Typically, companies send employees’ tax returns early rather than waiting until the last minute. However, it may happen that the employee does not receive the document on time – in such a situation he has two options.
What to do if we have not received personal income tax?
If we do not receive the PIT document by the end of February, we may ask the employer to issue a copy of the PIT-11. Thanks to this, we will be able to pay the tax office on time. It is also worth remembering that the PIT must be in your e-PIT system – it may happen that an electronic document will be available faster than a paper document.
What sanctions are provided for an employer who has not paid personal income tax?
An employer who fails to prepare and submit a PIT may face a fine. Late submission of PIT-11 or PIT-8C may result in a fine of up to PLN 180. daily rates.
Personal income tax online in the e-NDFL service
From February 15, you will be able to log in via your trusted profile and check your e-PIT. All documents must be available online so that the taxpayer can securely file their tax return. Using the Your e-PIT service is not mandatory, but many choose this solution as the platform is very intuitive.
