The Japanese woman announced her return to competition a few months ago and has achieved her goal of early 2024. So far he cannot consider his starts successful. Of all the tournaments she participated in, she only won one match. She was eliminated from the Australian Open in the first round, losing to Caroline Garcia. Despite being asked on The National’s website whether she sees herself in the future among the world’s best tennis players (such as Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka), Osaka answered in the affirmative. She showed great confidence in herself.

– I realize what I am capable of. People will probably judge me for saying this. But I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that I see myself there. I hope I can get there this year. But if not, it doesn’t bother me. I am patient, I have always been a patient person, so I will finally succeed,” said the Japanese representative.

Former WTA ranking leader fights for success

Naomi Osaka is currently ranked 757th in the WTA rankings. The Japanese start the tournament in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
