Everything points to the fact that pensioners will receive their 14th pension again this year. We contacted the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, when we can expect payment. There seems to be little chance that they will start, like last year, during the holidays.
Last month, the 13th pension was paid for the fourth time. Everything indicates that this year pensioners will be able to count on one more additional payment in the form of the 14th pension. At the end of April, a bill on the introduction of benefits on a permanent basis appeared on the government website. Familiarized with the document.
14. retirement. Not everyone will receive the full amount
Like the “thirteenth”, the 14th pension will be paid in the amount of the smallest pension (now more than PLN 1588 gross), but not everyone will receive the full increase. The government decided to freeze the threshold for receiving “fourteen” at a price of 2900 zł gross. In the case of persons whose regular allowance is higher, the zloty-for-zloty principle will apply.
However, it cannot be ruled out that in the next 14 years the pension will be higher than the minimum pension. The draft law assumes that the government may, by a decree, determine an amount exceeding the lowest old-age pension mentioned in the law, taking into account the socio-economic situation and the state of public finances.
When are the payments? Ministry Comments
Last year, the 14th pension was paid at the turn of August and September. We asked the Ministry of Family and Social Policy when pensioners can count on payments this year.
– In accordance with the draft law on the next additional annual cash payment to pensioners and pensioners, the month of payment of the next additional annual cash payment to pensioners in a given year (including in 2023) will be determined by the Council of Ministers no later than October 31, according to the regulations - the press service of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy answers Wprost.pl.
In a recent statement to Super Express, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy Stanislav Shved admitted that he would like the 14th pension to be “paid in September.” Why don’t benefits start, like last year, during the holidays? An obstacle will be the parliament’s working calendar, which ends in July, that is, in two months. Meanwhile, as the newspaper notes, the law on “fourteen” must first be adopted by the government, then it will go to the Seimas, and then to the Senate, where senators can make amendments, according to which the document will return to the Seimas. the last dot will be the president’s signature.
