Grain from Ukraine

According to the minister, after negotiations with the Ukrainian side, a document will be drawn up, which both sides will probably sign on Friday. Before the signing of the agreement, all agricultural products coming from Ukraine to Poland are subject to careful control.

“We all understand who is to blame for this situation, but we must solve this problem. Before the new season, before the summer, depending on how the situation develops in our countries and in the world, we will meet again to discuss further joint actions, said Mykola Solsky, Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine.

Grain from Ukraine without control

Yesterday, Rzeczpospolita wrote that about 3 million tons of grain from Ukraine, which instead of going to Africa, remained in Poland, was not subjected to control, which would guarantee that it is safe for health and does not contain harmful substances. This is indicated by the response of the Inspectorate for the Quality of Agriculture and Food (IJHARS), which carries out border control of the quality of products imported from outside the member states of the European Union.

According to the newspaper, grain from Ukraine was not received by state institutions, both in Puławy and in Poznań, to be checked for residues of plant protection products. It was also found that untested grain ended up in feed mills, mills and pasta manufacturers.
