Minister Anna Moscow was asked if the fact that crude oil is getting cheaper and fuel is getting more expensive does not mean that drivers have overpaid in recent weeks, and therefore there is no increase at gas stations now? “The most important thing is that these prices have not increased, and it was an announcement,” she stressed.

Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moskovskaya was asked on Monday if drivers have overpaid for fuel in recent months, as the price has not risen since VAT on fuel returned to 23 percent on January 1. Doesn’t this mean that Orlen has significantly increased wholesale fuel prices in recent months, taking advantage of its monopoly position in the market?

Minister of Moscow on Obaitek’s fulfilled promises

– If there was some kind of abnormal behavior in the market, we always have the WOC, which can intervene. If there is no such examination and no conclusions from the examination, then the situation is stable and correct, the minister said in the program “7 questions at 7:07” on RMF24 internet radio.

She added that we should be glad that “there are no raises and that was also a statement from President Daniel Obaitek.” “The president has announced that the price will be stable, and it is,” she said.

She added that she does not know how things are at other gas stations, but believes that “as in previous months, these prices are maintained.”

Entrepreneurs cannot be helped, because Brussels

The Minister also spoke about support programs aimed at reducing the cost of electricity bills. They are intended for individuals, but do not include entrepreneurs. According to the Minister of Climate and Environment, Brussels is to blame for this, which does not allow helping entrepreneurs. However, he argues that the government is looking for a way to help small and medium-sized businesses.

- We are preparing a tool to announce it in the coming days. This will require notification. We would very much like, as in the case of energy, to extend this assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises. There will definitely be no such direct help. But we are planning a good tool - Moscow said.

The minister was also asked if the problems with the availability of coal would recur in 2023.

- A small part of the inventory will remain from this year’s transport. Of course, for some time we will stop at the import of coal. But we are speeding up the Clean Air program, believing that a gradually and consistently implemented program will rid households of coal - Moscow responded.
