Finance Minister Magdalena Rzeczkowska has signed a decree extending the “zero” VAT rate on food products, the Finance Ministry announced on Saturday.
– We are extending the zero VAT rate on food products. Currently, the rate will apply to staple foods such as fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products and cereal products. At the same time, we focus our activities on the price of energy and its carriers, as well as the price of gas. We are constantly monitoring the situation and responding to external shocks,” Finance Minister Magdalena Rzeczkowska wrote in a communiqué.
The resolution also provides for a reduction to 8%. fertilizer rates, which were taxed at a rate of 21% before the introduction of the anti-inflationary shield. This discount will be valid for 2 years.
In addition, the regulation retains the 0% rate. VAT on the supply of goods and gratuitous provision of services for purposes related to the provision of assistance to victims of the consequences of military operations on the territory of Ukraine.
The regulation should come into force on January 1, 2023.
