The Central Statistical Office has published the latest data on unemployment in Poland.
The registered unemployment rate was 4.8%. at the end of August 2022, i.e. decreased by 0.1 p.p. in relation to July of the current year, reports the Central Statistical Office. An even greater decline was recorded in annual terms. In August 2021, this figure was 5.8%.
The number of registered unemployed at the end of August 2022 amounted to 806.9 thousand people. against 810.2 thousand a month earlier and compared to 960.8 thousand a year ago.
Unemployment lower than ministry expected
The data of the Central Statistical Bureau is also somewhat more favorable than the forecasts of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. As previously reported by the head of the ministry, Marlena Malong, the unemployment rate was registered in August this year. her ministry estimated 4.9 percent, unchanged from July.
