In connection with the sale of business in the Russian Federation in the second quarter of 2022, McDonald’s profit decreased by 36%, which in monetary terms reaches $1.2 billion.

“Consolidated operating income decreased by 36% (30% in constant currency). The results include a US$1.2 billion expense associated with the sale of the company’s business in Russia and a profit of US$271 million associated with the company’s sale of its Dynamic Yield business,” McDonald’s said in a statement.

At the same time, the company’s total operating profit actually remained unchanged.

“Excluding these current year net expenses and prior year net income of $98 million, primarily attributable to the sale of shares in McDonald’s Japan, consolidated operating income was unchanged (up 7% in constant currency),” McDonald’s said in a statement.

As you know, the network of McDonald’s establishments left Russia due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian occupation. The new restaurants will operate in the same premises where McDonald’s used to operate, and the new owners have hardly changed the menu.

“I have been saying for a long time that no anti-Russian propaganda is required. They do a great job on their own, without outside help, ”said Kazansky.

Earlier, the Japanese multinational tire company Bridgestone stopped work in Russia, as well as all new investments and supplies to the aggressor country.
