Fourteenth pension signed by the President

Must read

President Andrzej Duda signed an act on the so-called. the fourteenth retired. Benefit payments will begin during the summer holidays.

The Office of the President of the Republic of Poland announced today that President Andrzej Duda signed on Monday a law on an additional annual cash benefit for pensioners in 2022. This is the so-called fourteenth pension, i.e. a supplement to old-age and disability pensioners in the amount of the minimum pension, i.e. PLN 1,338.44 gross.

Recall that the law was adopted by the Council of Ministers in mid-May, and a few weeks later it was adopted by Parliament.

First payments still on vacation

The fourteenth pension was first paid in November last year. Initially, it was supposed to be a one-time allowance, but at the beginning of this year, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki unexpectedly announced that “fourteen” would be paid this year as well. Due to inflation, benefit payments will begin earlier this year, in August.

As already mentioned, the fourteenth pension is equal to the minimum pension. Simply, it will be paid in full to people whose regular allowance does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross. Otherwise, the “evil for zloty” rule applies (if someone receives a pension, for example, in the amount of PLN 3,000 gross, he will receive “fourteen” less by PLN 100), while older people with a higher pension (about PLN 4,200 ) will receive no allowances at all. According to the government, about 9 million people will receive the fourteenth pension (about 7.7 million will receive it in full).

The cost of the fourteenth pension is estimated at almost PLN 11.5 billion.
