Street ruins for sale. The capital is doing good things for them

Must read

For the fourth time, the Warsaw City Roads Authority put up for sale the rubble left on the streets. The offer included not only interesting models of cars, but also two-wheeled ones.

ZDM informs that cars removed from the streets in accordance with Art. 50a of the Road Traffic Act. These are vehicles that are left without license plates or are in a state of disuse. Such cars, as in the case of any evacuation, are removed at the request of the city guard or the police and delivered to the parking lots of companies with which we have concluded relevant agreements. There they are waiting for the owner or a person authorized to pick them up. If within 6 months no one claims the car, it becomes the property of the city according to the act.

Once for scrap, now for sale

This is the fourth time that cars that were no longer needed by previous owners are put up for sale. Until the fall of 2021, cars that no one dared to pick up were sent to a landfill after becoming the property of the city. Most often, these were badly damaged cars that even an expensive overhaul would not have returned to the roads.

More cars up for auction

Officials in Warsaw say they have put up for sale cars that can be “brought back to life.” Thus, in the autumn of 2021, 8 such cars were put up for sale, of which 7 found new owners, and the proceeds for them amounted to PLN 92,000. 700 PLN. At the end of September last year, we announced another procedure, and as many as 47 cars were on the list - 41 of them found new owners, and more than 350 thousand were received by the city treasury. zloty. In the spring of 2023, 16 cars participated in the tender - 5 were sold for a total of PLN 8,360.

Almost a million zł from tenders

During the last tender, 77 cars and one motorcycle went under the hammer. In total, ZDM received 834 proposals, and 59 cars and one motorcycle found new owners. The amount we managed to get from their sale is PLN 412,518. This means that a total of almost PLN 900,000 worth of cars were sold in all four tenders. zloty. ZDM suspects that during the next tender it will exceed one million zlotys from the sale of unwanted cars and motorcycles.

Not only “trash”

Toyota RAV4 of 2005 generated the greatest interest: 58 people were interested in buying it. As a result, the car was sold for almost 14,000 zł. However, the most expensive car was Skoda Fabia - the maximum offer was almost 33 thousand. zloty. New buyers were also found for: Polonez Caro (PLN 6,350), Yamaha Virago motorcycle (PLN 4,851) and Foodtruck Mercedes MB 100 Cabe (PLN 12,590).
