In Ryki (Lublin Voivodeship), an ambulance heading to the scene collided with a truck. The ambulance crew was injured.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 21, the day before 7 at the address: st. Lubelskaya in Ryki. The ambulance team was heading to the scene of an accident on the S17 highway. While overtaking, the ambulance driver drove into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a truck. In photographs obtained from the police, we see that the accident occurred on a viaduct in a place where overtaking is prohibited and the lanes are separated by a double solid line.
“According to preliminary data, the driver of the privileged ambulance lost control while overtaking, and as a result collided with a Volvo truck approaching from the opposite direction.” – said candidate Łukasz Filipek from the Ryki district police headquarters.
Three people required hospitalization
As a result of the incident, three people were injured. This is an ambulance team, consisting of a 30-year-old driver and two doctors. Everyone was taken to hospitals.
The police examined both drivers for alcohol levels in their bodies. Both the 30-year-old man operating the card and the 68-year-old Volvo truck driver were sober. After the incident, traffic on Lubelskaya Street was suspended. There are detours marked on city streets. Now the police will establish the exact course and cause of the incident.
