In Skarzysko-Kamienna (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship), a car crashed into a viaduct support. The driver’s life could not be saved.
The tragic event occurred on Sunday, November 19, at about 14 on the national road No. 7 in Skarzysko-Kamienna. A Ford Mondeo crashed into the concrete structure of a pedestrian bridge connecting Słoneczna and Kiliński streets.
“On a section of Krakowska Street, a Ford car, driving from Suchedniów, crashed into the concrete structure of a pedestrian crossing on Kiliński Street.” – Deputy Commissioner Jaroslaw Gwozdz, press secretary of the district police department in Skarzysko-Kamienna, told Radio Kielce.
The driver died on the spot
Only the driver was in the car – a 71-year-old resident of Skarzysko-Kamienna. The man died on the spot. Law enforcement officials do not rule out that the Ford driver lost consciousness.
No signs of slowing down
The police are establishing the course and circumstances of the tragic incident. What is known is that the odometer of the crashed car stopped at 185 km/h and there were no signs of braking on the road. Apparently, the damage to the car confirms the high speed of the car at the time of impact. The front end of the car was completely compressed after hitting the concrete support of the viaduct.
