He got in because of the lack of seat belts
It all started on Thursday after 7:00 in the center of Wloclawek. While patrolling Zeleny Rynok Street, traffic police officers noticed a Volkswagen driver who was driving without a seat belt, and his car did not have a rear wiper. The police decided to stop the vehicle for inspection on the road by turning on the light and sound signals.
However, the man ignored the commands of officers in uniform and began to run through the streets of the city, while violating a number of rules. He ended his journey at the intersection of Vyshinsky and Torunskaya streets, where he entered between vehicles waiting for the traffic light to change in front of the traffic light. He then fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended by the police.
The driver turned out to be a 32-year-old resident of Wloclawek. He was sober, but a preliminary examination showed the presence of methamphetamine in his system.
The man has already suffered the consequences of his reckless driving, during which he posed a threat to road users. Fortunately, despite the dangerous situations, there were no injuries. The 32-year-old man will also be charged not only with not stopping for a check on the road, but also with a number of other crimes. The investigation found that from October 2022 to February of this year, he committed several thefts in shops in Wloclawek. Basically, he stole alcohol, cigarettes, sweets and cosmetics totaling more than PLN 11,000. He committed these crimes as a recidivist, so he will have to pay off with a long prison term.
