Drivers received 322 km of new expressways. Here is their complete list

In 2022, drivers in Poland will be able to use 322 km of new expressways. Some of them are key compounds that are constantly present on the map of the country.

In 2022, the Main Directorate of Krakow Roads and Motorways opened 322 km of new roads to traffic. There are currently 4,887.1 km of expressways available to drivers, including 1,799.7 km of motorways and 3,087.4 km of expressways. GDDKiA performs 103 tasks with a total length of 1325.9 km. Currently, there are 13 tasks with a total length of 168.8 km from the National Road Construction Program (NRP) and three bypass roads with a length of 21.9 km from the State Program for the Construction of 100 Bypass Roads for 2020-2030 (PB100) under tender. .

In 2022, GDDKiA announced tenders for the construction of 20 sections of new roads with a length of 226.8 km and signed 24 contracts for the execution of works with a total length of 333.4 km and a cost of almost PLN 12.8 billion.

2022 is like no other

It was not an easy year. Since February, GDDKiA has been facing a unique geopolitical situation that is also affecting the public procurement market in Poland. This comes at a time when the road investment market is hot, construction work is moving forward and subsequent tenders for implementation are being announced. The main goal of the GDDKiA was to maintain market liquidity and stability by continuing construction work in progress and providing an opportunity to submit correctly calculated proposals. Despite difficult circumstances, management ended the year by adding 322 km of new roads to the new road network.

New roads

This year, the GDDKiA provided drivers with 322 km of roads. Here is their complete list:

  • S5 Ornovo - Virvaidy 5 km

  • S6 Bozepole Wielkie - Luzino 10.4 km

  • S6 Luzino - Semud 10.3 km

  • S6 Szemud – Gdynia Wielki Kack 20.2 km

  • S7 Naperki - Mlawa 14 km

  • S7 Penki – Płońsk 13.8 km

  • S7 Airport Warsaw - Lesznowola 6.5 km

  • Repair S7 - Skomielna-Biala 3.1 km

With the commissioning of the S5 Ornowo - Wirwajdy, GDDKiA has designated the Ostródy ring road as an expressway of which this section is an extension. This is a total of more than 12 km of S-class road. Construction of the 7.2 km section S61 on the Lomza Poludne - Lomza West section has also been completed, but will be allowed to traffic next year after construction. Łomża-West junction.
